WAREHOUSE DISTRICT. Locals know to head to the Warehouse District and this laid-back joint when they to catch the Red Wings on the tube. A neighborhood staple since before the early half of the 20th century, Andrews has served up its cold brews and warm pub grub to fathers, their children, and their children's children. During hockey season, shuttles run fans between Andrews and the arena.

DOWNTOWN DETROIT. Built in 1913, the Garden Bowl stood as the metro-area's oldest and largest bowling alley for several years ­ at one point its two levels featured a billiard's tournament area and more than 20 lanes. Today, the Garden's second level is the trendy Magic Stick pool hall and the lower level hosts some of Detroit's hottest DJ-spun dance parties. The nearby Majestic is a live music venue that has featured the likes of Buddy Guy, Johnny Winter, and Los Lobos.
